Miami One of the Top Cities in Which to Do Business and Tops for Environmental Initiatives
-Ranked by AméricaEconomía Magazine -
|
(Miami, FL) The City of Miami is one of the top three cities in which to do business for Latin America, according to the magazine AméricaEconomía and ranks high in the new category— environmental sustainability. Miami is the only city in the United States included for consideration by the business magazine.
“I am extremely proud that our efforts to increase Miami’s competitiveness in the global economy continue to pay off,” said Mayor Manny Diaz. “Latin American business entities are a vital part of our economy, and we’re aware that making our city environmentally sustainable helps create a positive business climate.”
The business magazine collects information from 60 large cities in Latin America and ranks them according to categories that an enterprise would consider in choosing a city in which to conduct business. These characteristics include size and economic activity of the city, quality of human capital, quality of corporate services, personal services, physical connectivity, the city’s brand power and environmental sustainability. Miami is the only US city included in the list of cities.
This last category of environmental sustainability is a new addition to the criteria. AméricaEconomía has ranked Miami in third place for this category, citing Mayor Diaz’s environmental initiatives such as “Energy Smart Miami.”
