City of Miami to hold public hearings for Virginia Key Master Plan
-Waterfront Advisory Board Meeting to Take Place Tuesday, June 9-
|
(Miami, FL.)—The City of Miami will hold three public hearings regarding the final Virginia Key Master Plan during the Waterfront Advisory Board, Planning Advisory Board and City Commission meetings in June. A preview of the final master plan for the public was held on May 20, 2009. The final master plan presentations and recommendations follow a comprehensive and collaborative public planning process.
All individuals who are interested in the Virginia Key final master plan are invited to attend the following public hearings. The public hearings will be held as following:
June 9, 2009: Waterfront Advisory Board – 6:30 p.m. City of Miami Commission Chambers
June 17, 2009: Planning Advisory Board – 7:00 p.m. City of Miami Commission Chambers
June 25, 2009 at: City Commission - 9:00 a.m. City of Miami Commission Chambers
In an effort to revive and preserve Virginia Key, the master plan strives to develop a viable waterfront with public open space areas; develop policies for the use of the waterfront; develop and manage the land; and provide for the protection and enhancement of the natural resources with the necessary infrastructure and traffic flow to serve future improvements to the island.
