Miami Commissioner Marc Sarnoff urges City to Support American Economy by purchasing American-Made Hybrids
-Ford, the only American Car maker not to accept bailout money, will showcase latest eco-friendly cars to City administration and public-

(Miami, FL)—Miami City Commissioner Marc D. Sarnoff, executives from Ford Motor Company, and Directors from Miami Goin’ Green, take part in the second of a series of events aimed at showcasing American cars during a time the industry needs a major boost. The Go Green, Buy American event is set for Tuesday, June 30th at 6:30pm in front of Miami City Hall (3500 Pan American Drive in Coconut Grove.) Availability is being made for early morning shows.
“With our economy at record low levels and local dealerships closing their doors, it is imperative that U.S. Automakers step up to the plate and deliver. Right now, the City of Miami’s hybrid fleet is mostly foreign imports. I’d like to see Miami give American cars a fresh look,” says Commissioner Sarnoff.
Cars on hand for the public to check out and test drive include the 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid, the 2010 Ford Escape Hybrid, and the 2010 Mercury Milan Hybrid.
Miami Goin’ Green will also offer tips and advice on how car owners can make their own cars run more efficiently and cost-effective.
Commissioner Sarnoff is not endorsing any particular automaker, he is looking for creative ways to encourage the American auto industry to bounce back strong from the current down economy.
“This is a great way for the public to see these eco-friendly U.S. cars up close and personal and ask any questions they’d like to the people who are touting their success,” says Commissioner Sarnoff.
