“I’m excited to see that Henderson Park will now have a great new facility which will not only enhance it, but it will now house City of Miami Parks and Recreation staff that will make sure the park remains clean and safe.  Many residents and different organizations in the area use this park to conduct positive activities for youngsters, so I’m proud that we’re bringing this great new addition to the community,” expressed Commission Chairman Joe Sanchez.

This capital improvement project consists of the design and construction of a 1,200 sq. ft. building with restrooms, office with storage, food serving area, and storage rooms for lawn equipment and park furniture.  The scope also includes the design and construction of a 2,020 sq. ft. covered recreation area, entry plaza, landscaping, security & sports lighting and miscellaneous site improvements, such as site furniture.

The estimated cost of construction is $789,370 with funding provided by the Homeland Defense Neighborhood Improvement Bonds and Sunshine State Financing Commission.
