City of Miami Planning Department to hold Preview Presentation of Virginia Key Master Plan
-Prior to public hearings in June 2009-

(Miami, Florida) – The City of Miami Planning Department will hold a Preview Presentation of the Virginia Key Master Plan on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Miami Science Museum, 3280 South Miami Avenue, Miami, Florida. The preview will be held prior to the public hearings to be held in June. Interested individuals are encouraged to attend.
The purpose of the presentation is to allow stakeholders, area residents and the community at large to preview the final Virginia Key Master Plan recommendations that culminates public comments and community input received throughout the process. The goal of the master plan is to develop a viable waterfront with public open space areas; develop policies for the use of the waterfront; develop and manage the land; and provide for the protection and enhancement of the natural resources with the necessary infrastructure and traffic flow to serve future improvements to the island.
Dates for the public hearings are as follows: June 9, 2009: Waterfront Advisory Board City of Miami Commission Chambers
June 17, 2009: Planning Advisory Board City of Miami Commission Chambers
June 25, 2009: City Commission City of Miami Commission Chambers
