Win a Free Bike at the Last Bike Miami Days of the Season

(Miami, FL)- Win 1 of 7 free bikes this Sunday, May 17, 2009, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, at the last Bike Miami Days of the Dry season. Thanks to the Downtown Development Authority, 6 bikes will be given away to the winners of dance contests at the County Courthouse steps and Mary Brickell Village. There will also be a public rally with raffle prizes to include a seventh bike and bike gear from Mack Cycle & Fitness and a 2-night stay at the Four Seasons Miami. In addition to the giveaways, there will be live entertainment and fun activities for the entire family. Downtown Miami streets will be CAR-FREE for the duration of the event so that people can explore the heart of Miami on foot, by bicycle, on a skateboard or any other form of self-propelled transportation.
Bike Miami Days was created by City of Miami Mayor Manny Diaz in November 2008 to reconnect people with their community by giving them the opportunity to explore our City in a new way. Downtown businesses, local non-profits and cultural organizations are invited to promote their services before thousands of expected participants.
Bike Miami Days promotes community, livable streets, bicycling and walking. The event is not a race so there is no official beginning, end point, or registration.
ALL official activities are completely FREE and will include: • Public Rally on the Steps of the County Courthouse at 11am- Win a Bike and other Prizes! • Dance Contests for kids at Mary Brickell Village, 12: 30 pm and 1:15 pm- Win a Bike! • Dance Contest for adults at the County Courthouse Steps at 11:45 am- Win a Bike! • Free Bicycle Rentals, at Mary Brickell Village and at Flagler Street • Restaurant Row, featuring great local restaurants not located on the route • Expanded Children’s Corner, featuring bounce houses, face painting, arts & crafts- Mary Brickell Village • Yoga and Stretching classes- Paul Walker Urbanscape Park, 9am and 10am • Live music throughout the streets, including Classic Rock covers by VIVA, and Latin Jazz Trumpeters • Bike Clinics on Flagler by the Courthouse and at Mary Brickell Village • Street Performances by Jugglers, Unicyclists and Balloon Artists
