City of Miami Parks Plans a Basketful of Easter Events for Miami Residents


April 3, 2009 - Family Hippity Hoppity “Egg”citement -   6pm – 9pm, $3
Shenandoah Park, 1800 SW 21 Avenue, (305) 856-9551
Grab your baskets and head to Shenandoah Park for an evening of “egg”citment. Easter Egg hunt for kids, bounce houses, hay rides and a bunny money store make this parks a destination of Easter fun. Admission is $3 per person and advance ticket sales are available and advised as anyone with an advance ticket will not have to wait in line for admission.

April 4, 2009 -   Woodstock Hippie Easter - 10am – 2pm, $3
Morningside Park, 750 NE 55 Terrace, (305) 754-1242
Does Easter make you feel groovy? Then head to Morningside Park where the 70’s have been revived. For $3 participate in an Easter egg hunt, pie eating contests, old school amusement games like bean bag toss and milk can bowling. Music of the 70’s will be enjoyed by all. Still have a leisure suit in the closet? Break it out and show your hippie style! Also parents, this is a must attend event as you can buy a raffle ticket to win a certificate for free summer camp for one child! For more information call the park.

April 11, 2009 - Hadley Easter Festival -  12pm – 4pm,  $2

If you love eggs then Hadley Park is your spot, hunt for eggs, egg n spoon races, “egg”stravaganza activities and more. This is a great family friendly event. Children can run around and hunt for Mr. Cotton tail, while parents enjoy the park and the cool spring weather. Admission is $2 per person.

April 11, 2009 - Clemente Easter Bash - 10am – 2pm, Free

A unique Easter event in the Wynwood neighborhood, beyond being able to hunt for eggs, families will be able to enjoy the water playground on site as well as enjoy a live concert by Left Perez and more. Come out for a great community event, with everything free for participation. 

April 11, 2009 - Grapeland’s Easter Jamboree – 4pm – 8pm, $5
Grapeland Park, 1550 NW 37 Avenue, (305) 960-2960
Who would have thought you could do an Easter Egg Hunt in a water park? Residents will be able to come out to Grapeland Park starting at 4 and enjoy arts and crafts, bounce houses, games and then at 6.30 the gates will open at the water park for an Easter egg hunt sure to delight even the smallest pirates and mermaids. Participation is $5 per person and once egg hunting is done, kids can return to the amusement area until 8pm.

April 18, 2009 – Easter “Egg”stravaganza -10am – 2pm, Free
Margaret Pace Park, 1775 N. Bayshore Drive (305) 350-7938
Where else other than Miami can your child egg hunt with an ocean view? Head to Margaret Pace Park for family games, bounce house, volleyball games and more. Enjoy the ocean breeze as your kids hunt down what the eater bunny left behind. Participation is free.
