Bike Miami Days Partners with Flagler Fest


-Free Event to be held Saturday, February 21-

(Miami, FL)- Bike Miami Days is returning to Downtown, Miami-- this time in conjunction with Flagler Fest, on Saturday February 21, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. City of Miami Mayor Manny Diaz and the Downtown Development Authority will hold the fourth Bike Miami Days, a free and family-friendly event for cyclists, skaters and walkers to explore the city in a whole new way. Flagler Fest will include an antique and historical festival in the heart of Downtown that features vintage automobiles on display for the Downtown Classic Car Show, historical tours of Flagler Street, and an Arts /Crafts & Collectibles market.

Bike Miami Days is an initiative by Mayor Diaz to promote bicycling, livable streets and the growing urban neighborhood of Downtown, Miami. The first three Bike Miami Days have brought thousands of people to the heart of the city. 

Street Closures:
The event will close the following streets for pedestrians, bicyclists and skaters beginning at 8:00 am: 

NW North River Drive and 4th Street (Garcia’s and Casablanca Seafood Restaurant and Markets) to SW North River Drive and SW 1st St, Flagler Street from the Miami River to Biscayne Blvd (La Epoca Department Store)

South Miami Avenue from 10th Street (Mary Brickell Village) to SE 4th Street and then north on 1st Ave to Flagler.

Note: Motor vehicle traffic will be able to cross East/West along Se 1st Avenue and South Miami Avenue. North and Southbound traffic Downtown will be confined to Biscayne Boulevard from 9am to 4pm.

Activities:

Stores, restaurants, parks and cafés throughout downtown will be open for the public to enjoy. The following is a list of the events participants will be able to enjoy:

**Activities in Downtown**

8:30 a.m.: Humane Society of Greater Miami Adopt-A-Pet Purina Walk for the Animals, at Bayfront Park, “The only event in Miami-Dade County by the animals, for the animals!” (Walk and fair until 12:00 noon)** Bikers are asked to please leave their bikes at the valet to safeguard pets**

9:00 am to 10:30 am: Free Yoga Class, at Bayfront Park

9:00 am to 4:00 pm: Flagler Fest- Activities for the entire family along Flagler St., from Biscayne Blvd. to the Miami-Dade Courthouse. The fun includes: A display of 100-125 Classic Cars on Flagler Street from Biscayne Blvd to the Historic Miami Dade Courthouse; Antique Motorcycles; A Concert on the Courthouse Steps; an arts/crafts & collectibles market, Children’s Arts & Craft Activities; and Historic Walking tours. 

Throughout the day:
Giveaways to guests at businesses along Flagler Street
Tours of the historical district & buildings, 174 E. Flagler Street
Bike Valet @ La Epoca Department Store, 200 E. Flagler Street, and West 1 Ave., by the courthouse.

**Activities at or near Lummus Landing, 404 N.W. 3rd St**

10:00 am: First Tour of Miami Police Stables, which will take place every hour, through 2 pm

10:30 am: Rally-- Join City leaders, and Miami Residents to rally for bike and pedestrian friendly streets. This is also an opportunity to learn about group rides and fitness opportunities throughout the year.

11:00 am: Yoga on the Riverfront, courtesy of Green Monkey Yoga

9:00am – 3:00pm: Green Art USA, an interactive art fair featuring ecologically sensitive works by local artists.
