Department of Community Development Conducts Public Hearings January 12th Through February 3rd, 2009

MIAMI, FL – The City of Miami Department of Community Development will be conducting public hearings to discuss community needs and establish priorities for federally funded activities within the City of Miami during a five-year period, to be incorporated in the Consolidated Plan 2009-2013. The Department of Community Development administers United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (U.S. HUD) funds for grant programs such as Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG), Home Investment Partnerships (HOME), and the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) program.
These public hearings, which will be held in each of the five City of Miami districts and two additional locations in metropolitan Miami-Dade County, will also serve to inform the public, identify the needs of residents, and discuss the distribution of federal funding for Fiscal Year 2009-2010 which starts October 1, 2009 through September 30, 2010. Members of the public are invited to comment and all remarks are noted and recorded. The public hearings will be held as noted below.
