(Miami, Florida) – The City of Miami Mayor’s Office of Film & Cultural Affairs, invites arts lovers to the “How to Art Fair III” on Saturday, November 8th, 2008 from 3:30-6:00 p.m., at Collins Building, 139 NE 39th Street, Miami Design District.  The event will be followed by a reception and is open to the public.

The “How to Art Fair” brings together representatives from Art Basel Week’s most cutting edge art fairs for an in-depth look at what the fairs have in store for this year.  Among the panelists are: Alexandra Cunningham, Design Miami; Ethan Cohen, Art Asia; Heather Hubbs, NADA; Jeff Lawson, Scope; among others.

This year’s seminars will be divided into two parts:

Part I
3:30 – 4:30 p.m.  - General Admission for the Novice Art Lover will cover general information about each fair, not-to-be-missed events and exhibits and guidance on buying, negotiating and collecting.

Part II
5 – 6:00 p.m. - VIP Backstage Pass for the Seasoned Art Collector will offer an in-depth discussion about each fair’s direction and offerings with special previews and insights about the state and future of art fairs and the market. 

6 – 7:00 p.m. Reception

Special Door Prizes Include VIP passes to the fairs!

The event will be moderated by Bonnie Clearwater, executive director and chief curator of MoCA, and is co-hosted by Miami Design District, MoCA and Supermarket Creative.
