Tune in to Miami City Commission Meetings LIVE on the Web
-New Tool Allows Users to View Commission Meetings in Progress and Read the Agenda Simultaneously-

(Miami, Florida) – People near and far will be able to tune into the City of Miami Commission meeting Thursday, July 10, 2008, using a new and improved system to view City Commission meetings live and also retrieve past commission meeting videos on the web. Miami has enlisted Granicus, Inc. to provide more convenient web streaming and archiving services to residents inside and outside of Miami. The new web streaming and archiving system can be accessed at http://videos.miamigov.com or by logging on to the City’s web site miamigov.com, and clicking on e-video.
Citizens who want to read through an agenda item and view any related attachments while watching it being discussed by the commission simultaneously will now have the tools to do so by using this new web service. In addition, the public will also be able to access past commission meetings (starting with the meeting of June 12, 2008) and agendas using the online archives. Archived meetings will be searchable on-demand by agenda item which will enable residents and interested individuals to view the video of a specific agenda item of interest.
About City of Miami Television City Commission meetings are aired on City of Miami Television Channel 77, the City’s municipal government access cable channel. The Office of Communications operates City of Miami Television, which is accessible on the Comcast Cable Network within the City limits. The channel aims to inform viewers about city services, departments, events, and important decisions that affect the everyday lives of residents. City of Miami Television airs public meetings of significance to residents and a variety of original educational programs 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
