Commissioner Joe Sanchez Urges Federal Government to Grant Temporary Protected Status to Haitians in the U.S.


Miami, Fl. –  City of Miami Commission Chairman Joe Sanchez, backed unanimously by the City of Miami Commission, passed a resolution urging President George W. Bush to grant temporary protected status to Haitians in the United States.

“I am committed to take a hands-on approach with local and federal leaders to address the immediate and long term needs of Haitians in Miami and across our great nation,” stated Commissioner Sanchez.

This resolution comes at a time of turmoil and political instability in Haiti, thus affecting the Haitian community worldwide.
