WHAT:

More than forty families in the City of Miami to get free energy upgrades when Mayor Manny Diaz, Commission Chairman Joe Sanchez, and FPL’s Home Energy Makeover teams visit nearly 40 homes in Little Havana.  During the one-day blitz, FPL experts will outfit the homes with energy-efficient upgrades and installations that will save homeowners up to 25 percent a year on their energy bills. Since the program began two years ago, FPL’s Home Energy Makeover teams have worked with communities throughout the state to provide families in need with energy saving upgrades.  

During the event, Mayor Diaz will present FPL with formal salute to recognize its philanthropic work in the community through programs such as the Home Energy Makeover event.

Twelve work teams, under the direction of FPL energy specialists, will perform energy-efficiency upgrades on the 50 pre-selected homes in the historic community of Little Havana.
