During the City of Miami Commission Meeting on Thursday, March 13, 2008, City Commission Chairman Joe Sanchez urged the City of Miami Administration to adopt legislation protecting dogs from being cruelly tethered.  “These innocent animals are being tied up and abandoned without water, food, shelter and exposed to harsh weather conditions.  We must take action, and stop this practice,” stated Commissioner Sanchez.

Commissioner Sanchez requested that a legislative item for the April 10th, 2008 Agenda be drafted modeled after similar legislation by Miami Dade Animal Services.
