No Garbage Pick Up on Monday, January 21st for City of Miami Residents


(Miami, Florida)—In observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, city of Miami residents are advised there will be NO garbage, trash or recycling pick-up on Monday, January 21st, 2008. The Solid Waste Department will be closed and will resume operations on Tuesday, January 22nd.  City of Miami residents should hold their trash/garbage/recycling until the next scheduled pick-up day. Residents with questions or concerns are encouraged to call 311.

Normal service shall resume on Tuesday, January 22, 2008.

The mini-dump will be closed on Monday, January 21st, 2008 and will resume its regular schedule on Tuesday following the respective holiday.

**Christmas trees continue to be picked up during the regular trash schedule until the end of January 31, 2008.  After that day, citizens are asked to bring them to the city’s mini dump, located at 1290 NW 20th Street.

•Residents are reminded to:

•Separate vegetation from other trash and bulky items to expedite the garbage pick up effort. 

•Recycled items should be placed in the recyclable container in an accessible location. Please do not park in front of the garbage or place any other items around it.
