City of Miami Offers New Online Service to Track Building Inspectors’ Routes

-Service informs customers about the status
of the building inspection schedule-

(Miami, Florida)— The City of Miami Building and Information Technology Departments have created a new online service to better inform customers about building inspections. The new Online Permit/Plan & Inspections Access is now available through the Building Department’s web site http://www.miamigov.com/building/pages/, by clicking on the ‘Daily Inspections Route’ tab located on the left hand side.

Through this service, customers, 311 operators and City staff will be able to obtain information about inspection dates, Building inspectors’ routes including daily progress and approximate arrival time as well as inspections’ results.

“This new service, practically ‘real-time,’ will result in significant gains for our customers by providing them with a more limited time frame within which they can expect an inspector to arrive,” said Hector Lima, Director of the City’s Building Department, “With this tool, we can better manage our customers’ expectations and customers can better plan their days as well as use their time more efficiently,”

Individuals who do not have internet access may still obtain the information by contacting the Neighborhood Enhancement Team at (305) 960-4NET [305-960-4638], 311 or the Building Department at (305) 416-1100.
