City of Miami and Offense-Defense Sports Commemorate Final Football Game at the Historic Orange Bowl
-All American High School Football Game and Fireworks, Friday, January 4th, 2008-

(Miami, Florida)— Offense-Defense Sports and the City of Miami will be commemorating the final football game at the Historic Orange Bowl Stadium, the Offense-Defense All American Bowl, on January 4th, 2008. Gates open at 5:00 pm. The game will be televised nationally on Fox College Sports (check local listings for television channel).
Eighty-eight of the finest high school football players from across the United States will be divided into East and West squads, both coached by a cadre of the most qualified personnel available including legendary ex-NFL wide receiver and current HBO football analyst Cris Carter. The All-American Bowl will be the final football game ever played at Orange Bowl Stadium before the historic building is demolished.
Festivities surrounding the game include: a pre-game show featuring Gospel Artist Apostle Cash starting at 6:30 pm, Miss America 2007 Lauren Nelson singing the National Anthem, and a half-time show featuring country music artist Candy Colburn. Finally, as the clock counts down to 0:00, a fireworks display will fill the sky, courtesy of the City of Miami.

The City has contracted the company Mounted Memories (Dreams, Inc.) to salvage parts of the stadium and create unique memorabilia by mounting, framing, plaquing and otherwise presenting them in an extraordinary manner. Those interested in purchasing memorabilia will be able to do so through the web site http://www.orangebowlstadium.com/ Mounted Memories will also coordinate a full day event on Saturday, January 26th, honoring the history of the Orange Bowl featuring former Miami Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino and former University of Miami Hurricanes Jim Kelley and Bernie Kosar. After the salvaging process is completed the City will begin demolition efforts.
