City of Miami Invites Residents to Celebrate Halloween Activities Safely


-Events are free and open to the public-

(Miami, Florida)- The City of Miami invites its residents to enjoy Halloween celebrations being held at several locations throughout the City.  Young and old can walk through scary trails, spooky haunted houses, participate in costume contests and more.  Event description, time and location for each are listed below.

Morningside Park Walk of Horror
Monday, October 29, 2007 7:00 – 10:00 p.m.
750 NE 55th Terrace
Goblins and ghouls will haunt the night as residents brave the scary trail through the park. For those faint of heart and too years (9 and under) for the Walk of Horror a small haunted house will be set up in the recreation building. Free candy and admission for all children who attend.

Jose Marti Park Annual Halloween Celebration
Tuesday, October 30, 2007, 4:00 - 8:00 p.m.
362 SW 4th Street
Haunted House Opens from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Activities include relay races, rides, entertainment, food and drinks.
Jose Marti Park Annual Halloween Celebration is sponsored by City of Miami Parks and Recreation Department, Little Havana NET Office, The City of Miami Police, Dade Community Foundation Little Havana Community Partnership and Amigos for Kids and Abriendo Puertas.
Free admission.

Buena Vista Howling Halloween!
Wednesday, October 31, 2007, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Street Fair on 43rd and 44th Streets and NE First Avenue
Enjoy games, trick or treating, prizes best decorated house contest, costume contest and more!
Buena Vista Howling Halloween! is sponsored by Buena Vista East, West and Heights Neighborhood Associations and District 5 Commissioner Michelle Spence-Jones.

Halloween Family Fright Night
Wednesday, October 31, 2007, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Shenandoah Park, 1800 SW 21 Ave
Halloween Family Fright Night is sponsored by City of Miami Parks and Recreation Department
Children are encouraged to bring at least one non-perishable item (canned goods, soups, rice, and cereal).  All donations will be given to the Lotus House Shelter located at 217 NW 15th Street.

Trick or Treating in the Roads!
Wednesday, October 31, 2007, 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Starting Point, Corner of SW 21st Road and SW 4th Avenue
Ending Point, Halloween Party, and Costume Contest:

Trick or Treating in the Roads! is sponsored by The Roads Neighborhood and Civic Association, The Coral Way Neighborhood
Enhancement Team (NET) and The Miami Police Department.
