Tree Planting to be Held in the
Historic Morningside Neighborhood, Saturday, October 6th


-Community is encouraged to participate-

(Miami, Florida)-On Saturday, October 6th, 2007, starting at 8:00 am at 5978 NE 6 Court the Morningside Civic Association will be planting 125 street trees in the historic Morningside neighborhood. The trees are being planted to replace over 150 trees lost during the 2005 hurricane season. The Morningside tree planting is one of many funded under the City of Miami’s GreenMiami campaign to restore the City’s tree canopy to 30% by 2017.

Five community-based organizations, Roots in the City, Operation Green Leaves, TREEmendous Miami, Citizens for a Better South Florida and Tree Man Trust, are receiving funding in 2007 to plant and maintain over 532 trees throughout the City.
