The President of the Inter-American
Development Bank Addresses Mayors at Hemispheric Forum in Chicago

During his keynote speech, Ambassador Moreno stated that cities have emerged as important actors in shaping the future of the hemisphere. Ambassador Moreno also emphasized the bank’s commitment to accelerate change in the region through public-private partnerships.
The Forum is being attended by more than 30 mayors and representatives of 15 countries. The Mayors' Hemispheric Forum was initiated by City of Miami Mayor Manny Diaz in 2006. The first unprecedented gathering was held in Miami to provide a platform for an exchange of innovative ideas and solutions to common urban issues.
