-Joint effort between City officials and community leaders is underway-
|
(Miami, Florida) – City of Miami Mayor Manny Diaz and Commissioner Michelle Spence-Jones joined by P.U.L.S.E. representatives, City administrators, community leaders and residents will announce the launch of the HotSpot Campaign during a press conference in a vacant lot located at NW 11th Terr and First Place on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. After the press event, there will be a mini blitz in the surrounding area where area residents and city staff will clean up and pass out Hotspot information. The community is invited to attend.
The City of Miami is partnering with P.U.L.S.E. to launch the HotSpot campaign in District 5.
The HotSpot campaign aims to empower residents to take back their neighborhoods, report illegal activities with the “HotSpot” card and remain anonymous without the fear of retaliation from criminals. In the past, the HotSpot campaign has resulted in hundreds of arrests and the confiscation of illegal drugs. Residents can also use the service to report illegal dumping.
The HotSpot campaign was originally created by P.U.L.S.E., a non-profit organization.
