Miami Fire Rescue Remember
Victims of 9-11 Tragedies

On this Tuesday, September 11, 2007 Miami Fire-Rescue will take time out to honor all the victims of the September 11, 2001 tragedy that took place at the World Trade Center in New York City; the Pentagon in Arlington, Va.; and the crash-site in Shanksville, Pa.

At 10:00 am the Miami Fire Rescue Dispatch Office will alert all stations as well as send out a radio tone alert. Dispatchers will then make an announcement over the radio as follows: All personnel, not on an incident alarm, will stand at attention in silence for one minute in remembrance of all the victims of the 9-11 attacks including Fire Service, Law Enforcement, Civilians and all the families of those who were lost.

Station Shift Commanders may at their discretion prior to 10:00 am muster their personnel at the flag pole facing the flag for the duration of this activity.

Note: The Department will continue to conduct emergency operations throughout this time and there shall be no delays in processing 911 calls, dispatching of units or any delays in unit responses.

Your remembrance and recognition is greatly appreciated by all those families and individuals who were directly affected by this tragedy.

Please contact the P.I.O. for station locations.
