City of Miami Commissioner Marc D. Sarnoff Invites the Community to the Unveiling of Blanche, “Man’s Best Friend” Dog Sculpture

(Miami, Florida)- City of Miami Commissioner Marc D. Sarnoff invites the community to the unveiling of Blanche, “Man’s Best Friend” dog sculpture. The event takes place on Saturday, September 8th, 2007, starting at 10:30 a.m. at Blanche Park, Shipping Avenue and Virginia Street in Coconut Grove.
Blanche is one of four sculptures that will be placed in the parks according to their names. The three dog sculptures - Blanche, Kennedy and Legion - were purchased by the office of Commissioner Marc D. Sarnoff, District 2, from renowned artist William Colburn.
Mr. Colburn has exhibited in many states throughout North America and continues to travel the U.S. participating in art festivals, including the Coconut Grove Arts Festival. He has won numerous arts and festival awards since 2000 and has gained recognition in the iron and metal art industry.
Light refreshments will be served.
