(Miami, Florida)- Curious to meet Blanche, Kennedy and Legion? Come on down to the office of Commissioner Marc D. Sarnoff and enjoy these three stainless steel, larger than life dog creations before they go to their permanent dog park homes. Commissioner Sarnoff’s office is located at Miami City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive. The dog statues will be available for viewing until Friday, August 24, 2007.

“These sculptures commemorate man’s best friend, and the oath we all take to care for God’s creatures,” said Commissioner Sarnoff.

Blanche, Kennedy, and Legion will be placed in the parks according to their names where two dog parks currently exist. The dogs will receive a “welcome home” celebration once they are all installed in their respective parks in the coming weeks.

The dog sculptures were purchased by the office of Commissioner Marc D. Sarnoff, District 2, from renowned artist William Colburn.  

Mr. Colburn has exhibited in many states throughout North America and continues to travel the U.S. participating in art festivals, including the Coconut Grove Arts Festival.  He has won numerous arts and festival awards since 2000 and has gained recognition in the iron and metal art industry.
