City of Miami Commission to Hold
Workshop Regarding Miami 21

(Miami, Fla.) – The City of Miami Commission will hold a workshop to discuss the enactment of Miami 21 on Thursday, June 21st, 2007, from 2 PM until 5 PM, at City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive, Miami, Florida.  This workshop will be for the purpose of discussion amongst the City Commissioners relative to the provision of the proposed Miami 21 plan. Anyone interested in being present is invited to attend; however, no public input will be taken.

Miami 21 is a blueprint for the City of Miami of the 21st century and beyond. It takes a holistic approach to land use and urban planning, broadening the scope of a traditional master plan to become a truly comprehensive plan. Miami 21 will provide a clear vision for the City that will be supported by specific guidelines and regulations so that future generations will reap the benefits of well-balanced neighborhoods and rich quality of life. The plan will take into account all of the integral factors that will make each area within the City a unique, vibrant place to live, learn, work and play. Six elements, in particular, will serve as the lynchpins in the development of the blueprint: Form-Based Code, Economic Development, Transportation, Parks & Public Realm, Arts & Culture, and Historic Preservation.

In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, persons needing special accommodations to participate in this proceeding may contact the Office of the City Clerk at (305) 250-5360 (Voice) no later than two (2) business days prior to the proceeding or at (305) 250-5472 (TTY) no later than three (3) business days prior to the proceeding.
