  The Land Use and Environmental Division is responsible for all matters related to, real property and its use. The attorneys are specialists in this area of the law and routinely deal with a variety of transactions and issues - from monitoring the step-by-step progress of complicated projects, to litigating trial and appellate land use matters, to negotiating, revising or drafting land use changes to the code and charter. Queries are answered and legal solutions are offered to client departments, boards/committees, and the Mayor and City Commission covering an encyclopedia of issues relative to the Miami Comprehensive Neighborhood Plan, the Zoning Ordinance, South Florida Building Code, Code Enforcement, real property acquisitions and disposition, permitting, impact fees, plat approvals, street naming, tax increment financing, Public Works matters, use of public rights-of-way, covenants, and eminent domain.
