The City of Miami Minority Women Business Enterprise (MWBE) program is not a mandatory program, but encourages primary contractors to sub-contract the different trades of a project to City of Miami certified minority suppliers. Once a business relationship is established between the primary contractor and the minority contractor, the minority contractor can use primary contractor as a mentor to educate themselves about business successes, network with primary contractor and his/her business contacts, and to form a relationship with the primary contractor to partner for future projects.
