    Ms. Turin currently supervises the Workers Compensation Section and also represents the City in its labor matters and employment litigation.  Her background is primarily in law enforcement and public sector labor and employment. Prior to her return to the City of Miami in 1999, Ms. Turin served as in-house counsel to a law enforcement labor organization, and also as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Hialeah where she handled labor and employment issues, and served as the Police Legal Advisor. Ms. Turin has represented and worked with numerous boards and committees, including Code Enforcement, Personnel/Civil Service, Workers’ Compensation Fraud, and Large Scale Development. Before embarking on a full-time legal career, Ms. Turin rose through the civilian ranks of the Miami Police Department to become the manager of the Personnel Unit.

    
Ms. Turin also provides volunteer services as an arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau, and teaches a State-certified course for law enforcement officers on Case Preparation and Court Presentation Skills. She is also active in local government serving on her local Planning and Zoning Board.
