Litigation Division

    The attorneys in the Litigation Division are responsible for representing the City, its employees, and public officials at the trial and appellate level in both federal and state courts. The scope of representation includes cases involving public officials' liability; claims of constitutional and civil rights violations, claims arising under the Americans with Disability Act; wrongful death, personal injury and tort actions; commercial and construction disputes. In addition to trial and appellate advocacy, the attorneys work very closely with the Risk Management Division and management officials in other city departments to proactively reduce the incidence of litigation.
