Legal Advisors Division

    This division prepares resolutions and ordinances of the City of Miami and any legislation sought to be enacted by the Commission or Administration at the State or Federal level. For legislation that originates in departments of the City, it is the responsibility of this division to ensure that the legislation is legally correct before entering the agenda flow and ultimate passage by the City Commission. In addition, this division interprets the City Code for all City departments and offices. This division handles any special projects designated by the City Attorney including Ballot questions and Charter revisions such as the form of government changes and creation of the civilian investigative panel.
